28 Day Recovery Program Chiang Mai, Thailand

Who is this package for?

  • Persons in recovery looking for a body, mind and/or spirit transformational experience
  • Persons who have recently left primary or secondary treatment for addiction or trauma issues.
  • Persons with more than 60 days without the use of any mind-altering substance

Please note: This is not a treatment center package. You MUST be clean for at least 60 days before being able to attend this program. If you or your loved one are still in active using, then you will not be able to join this program.

Chiang Mai has a strong and thriving recovery community with a large number of fellowships and support groups that meet on a regular basis. Because of this, the city is known as a popular destination for people in early recovery. Many people decide to stay in Chiang Mai for a period of time after completing a program in one of the many treatment centres within Thailand.

You may leave treatment feeling lost or uncertain about the ability to abstain back at home. You may have spent some time in a secondary facility but still feel unsure about how you will go on your own. With the right support, staying in Chiang Mai longer offers you the opportunity to build up some “clean time” whilst exploring ways to follow your heart and create or deepen your spiritual practice. Even if you have been clean for a while, you may still be missing this inner connection that ultimately is recovery.

With years in recovery we have designed this program to share our experiences and give you the next best step forward when you come out of treatment. The program gives you support from other addicts in recovery and people who understand where you are at and what you are going through.

What is included in the Recovery Program?

  • Accommodation in your own apartment, approximately 250 metres from Chiang Mai Holistic, in the popular Nimmanhaemin area
  • Weekly consultations with a qualified nutritionist, a psychotherapist, a recovery and life coach, and a personal trainer. Depending on your needs we may also arrange other sessions, for example an EMDR therapist to help with trauma, a hypnotherapist to help form healthy habits, and a career counselor to help work through next steps after Chiang Mai
  • Once or twice daily one-on-one holistic therapy sessions, including massage, personal training, chi nei tsang, reiki, sound therapy, Trauma Release Exercises (TRE), Acupuncture, Qi Gong, Energy work
  • Unlimited access to CMH classes that include functional training, beginners, flow and restorative yoga, meditation and twice weekly sound baths
  • Discounts for weekend workshops that are on at CMH such as learning reiki, sound healing with tibetan bowls, art therapy, dance therapy and much more

Chiang Mai Holistic Recovery Program

We have worked with clients from all over the world who have suffered from trauma, addictions, gambling, self-harm, stress and anxiety disorders, work addiction, life crisis and an inner sense of lostness. The Process - What does your first day look like?

1. Pick up from Airport and check - in to your accommodation - if you are not currently in Chiang Mai we will arrange a pick up and transfer for you from the airport to your Chiang Mai condo. We will also give you a short orientation tour of the Nimman area for essentials including groceries, and where to eat healthy and affordably
2. Welcome drink and tour at Chiang Mai Holistic - we will walk with you from your condo to CMH, pick up a juice or shake from the cafe downstairs and show you around the centre.
3. Holistic assessment to determine Week 1 Program - we will ask you to complete a short questionnaire and discuss the responses with you to help us determine what services you might need. There are many paths to recovery, so we will check point with you every week to tailor your program according to your needs and situation. At times we may ask you to try things you haven’t tried before! If these don’t work out we will change them the next month
4. Nutritionist assessment - Our nutritionist will ask you some questions, take your measurements and complete an assessment. They will then design a food plan including hints on where to eat in Chiang Mai. Your plan will be tracked on a weekly basis
5. Health and fitness assessment - Our personal trainer will then complete your fitness assessment and discuss with you your fitness goals and objectives. Depending on 3, 4 & 5 we will then determine the best fitness options for you, such as yoga, functional training, one-on-one, and outdoor activities such as running, cycling and swimming
6. Discuss/set schedule for Week 1 - we will then take you through the schedule for your first week. We will checkpoint each week to see what worked and what didn’t, and make any changes for the next week

The Program - what does a typical week look like?

According to your personal plan your week will consist of:

  • Week days - at least 2 one-on-one consultations or sessions at CMH. Each week you will have at least one session with your therapist, recovery coach, personal trainer and nutritionist
  • You will exercise at least once a day according to your Personal Training plan, which will include group activities at CMH and/or outdoor fitness activities
  • To support you through your time in Chiang Mai and beyond we encourage you to attend a recovery group daily such as 12 step fellowships or facilitated process groups. We can help tailor your program so you can attend these on a regular basis

How long and how much does the Recovery Program cost?

  • The minimum program length is 28 days (4 weeks)
  • The program can then be extended fortnightly

The cost of the Recovery Program is USD $5,000 per month including your accommodation (meals are excluded), to be paid prior to commencement.

What is Different from this package compared to others?

Generally after leaving rehab or a sober house you would go back to your home country to work on what’s next, or you would be left to travel and settle into your next destination on your own. The Recovery Program is a next step option that will help you deepen your recovery, live on your own whilst still receiving limited support within close proximity of primary care. A number of our teachers and community members are in recovery and work with treatment centres, and can help support you through this next phase.

For us we call our 28-day packages the "Urban retreat", being in the city, learning how to live your recovery in an environment that is more city-like. You will spend your time in the beautiful city of Chiang Mai, located in the northern region of Thailand. Chiang Mai is a fantastic city with lots to offer anyone particularly people in recovery.

We will provide some of the best teachers to help guide, support and create a plan for you. Not only while you are here for the 28 days, but also for when you return home. There is no point going through recovery in Thailand, getting well, learning all these new things, then going back to your home country, forgetting it and returning to old habits. This is a new way of living; this is your new lifestyle and your recovery. You are going to be able to take what you have learned here and apply it to the rest of your life.

Here's what's included in this package - treatments and therapy options

Below is a list of services that we offer for this package for the twice-daily one-on-one sessions. We will determine your individual needs during your first day and your weekly checkpoints where we will continue with what works and change what hasn’t. Please note that you might not receive all the services listed below within the 28 days.

Addictions Counseling and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR)
We have certified therapists to meet with you on a weekly basis, including a trauma and EMDR-certified therapist. EMDR is a tried and tested therapy for people who suffer from the effects of traumatic experiences, addiction, depression, and anxiety.

Life Coach
Our professional life coaches will help you be able to trust yourself more, set more precise goals and learn how to recognize your personal development to be more grateful and aware of your self-improvement journey.

Mindfulness Meditation
We will create a unique and individually tailored mindfulness meditation practice to help you get in touch with your intrinsic motivators and real purpose for existence. Meditation is not a luxury; it is a necessity. We will help you create a daily disciplined practice.

Hypnotherapy is a complementary and alternative medicine in which the mind is used to help with a variety of problems, such as breaking bad habits or coping with stress, anxiety, fears, phobias and many more.

Sound Healing
Included in the package is a weekly private sound healing session. Tibetan and Crystal bowls will be placed on and around you. The sound frequencies produced by the different bowls restore energy in the correct parts of the body, making every cell flow at a healthy rate.

Reiki is a form of alternative medicine called energy healing. Its "universal energy" technique allows us to do just that. Reiki practitioners use palm-healing or hands-on healing to promote emotional or physical therapy.

TRE (Trauma Release Exercise)
TRE is a simple yet innovative series of six simple exercises. Each level helps individuals release stress or tension, which has built up due to busy lifestyles or have occurred as a result of traumatic experiences, allowing you to rejuvenate your body for the day ahead.

Private Yoga
Yoga has so many benefits such as fitness, breathing, body flexibility, and being an alternative to static meditation in helping with depression, anxiety and lift your mood. We have many styles and teachers of Yoga available. We will customize a yoga practice that works for you.

Personal Trainer
When it comes to an individual's health and fitness, each one of us has a different body type, abilities, restrictions, level of fitness, etc. Therefore each one of us requires a fitness program designed specifically for us taking into consideration all these facets.

Qi Gong
Qi Gong Is an ancient technique of utilizing holistic and body-posture movements, meditation, and breathing patterns to improve your physiological health. This training will help you cultivate your discipline and determination, and help you develop mindfulness and clarity.

Thai Massage
We will introduce you to the authentic Thai Lanna Massage technique, which is world-renowned for its wide range of health benefits. Thai Massage offers a broad spectrum of relaxation that will be experienced across your mind, body and soul.

Membership to CMH’s Group Studio
Included is an unlimited membership where you will get access to all group classes at our centre. Being part of the community is an important part of this package. You will have both private and group lessons made available to you.

Available to you is a personal nutritionist coach. Nutrition is one of the first things we look at when it comes to creating a new holistic lifestyle. If you don't eat and drink right then, this will affect a lot of other areas in your life. Our nutritionist will create a weekly food plan for you.

Chi Nei Tsang
A traditional form of healing touch (massage) therapy, which is applied to the abdomen; Chi Nei Tsang is used to stimulate and manipulate muscles and connective tissue, organs and systems located in the stomach. Improves the flow of energy into the abdominal region

Energy Works
We have a lot of fantastic energy healers at Chiang Mai Holistic. We offer different private and group sessions. Clear your old and unwanted energies, fill you with new energies, raise the frequencies and balance the physical, emotional and mental bodies

Spa Treatments
We have partnered up with one of the best spas in Chiang Mai to offer you different types of body scrubs, body wraps or facial treatments. Self care comes in many ways, and relaxing in a beautiful spa is one of them. You know you deserve it.
